Damo 茶母 다모 (2004)

A 14-part Korean TV drama, brimming with exquisite pain, set during the 17th century. Chae-Ohk (played by Ha Ji-Won) is a damo, a female tea servant in the police force who also does undercover work. Her commander is Hwangbo Yoon (played by Lee Seo-Jin). The two have been side-by-side since Chae-Ohk was seven, have trained together, and silently love each other despite the rigid class structure which separates them. Into their lives arrives the charismatic rebel leader Jang Sung-Baek (played by Kim Min-Joon), a threat to the imperial system Hwangbo Yoon devotedly serves as well as to Chae-Ohk's loyalties as she finds herself irresistibly drawn to him. Political intrigue, mystery, soap opera, mystical martial arts, hidden identities, cool costumes, endearing peripheral characters... this series has it all.
